Ethylene

Ethylene is an olefin with two carbon atoms.

Ethylene is the primary product of steam crackers and the basic building block for many plastics.

In a refinery, ethylene is produced in the refinery gas generated by many cracking units, but it is usually left in the refinery gas used as refinery fuel.
