Resid hydrotreater

Also known as: Resid desulfurization unit, Atmospheric resid desulfurization, ARDS

The resid hydrotreater is used to lower the sulfur content of resid streams. This is done either to create lower-sulfur blend stocks for making residual fuel oil or to prepare atmospheric resid for feed into the RCC unit.
