Fluidized bed

A fluidized bed is a catalyst bed type in which the catalyst is free flowing in a mixture with the reacting hydrocarbons (as opposed to being in a fixed or ebullating bed). In a fluidized bed, the catalyst is typically in the form of a fine powder for easy mixing and requires some method to separate it from the reactor products before they are drawn off.
