Calciner

A calciner removes volatile hydrocarbons from pet coke by heating it in a rotary kiln. The resulting calcined coke can then be used to form anodes for the steel and aluminum industries.

Some refineries have calciners on site, but most calciners are stand-alone plants that take pet coke from multiple refineries.
